Old Vine Barossa Grenache

Welcome to Vinya Vella.

Vinya Vella means "old vineyard" in Catalan, which is a homage to the old Grenache vines of Spain where I (Dylan Grigg) worked and lived with my family, cementing a love of the variety.

Vinya Vella is the name we chose for our families small 6 hectare vineyard in the Barossa Valley. The site is planted exclusively to Grenache with both young and very old vines (>100 years). It is here, in the Barossa Valley where I grew up as a child and also humbly started my viticultural career, I now use my practical skills combined with my PhD studies into old vines to nurture the land and vines that make Vinya Vella.

With the encouragement and support of our family and friends (you know who you are) we did not have a doubt to go down this path, we are proud of what we have been able to achieve so far and look forward to sharing the long term journey with these already old vines and our new wines.

News: 2022 Grenache gets 95 points from Halliday and 95 points from the Wine Front.
