Old Vine Barossa Grenache
Welcome to Vinya Vella.
Meaning "old vineyard" in Catalan, Vinya Vella is a homage to the old Grenache vines of Spain where I (Dylan Grigg) worked and lived with my wife Natasha and our young family, cementing a love of the variety. Vinya Vella is the name we chose for our family's small 6 hectare vineyard in the Barossa Valley, a site planted exclusively to Grenache with both young and very old (100+ year old) vines.
It is here, in the Barossa Valley where my ancestors settled and I grew up, that I humbly started my viticultural career. Years building practical skills on the ground combine with my academic pursuit of viticulture and PhD in old vines, allowing me to nurture the land and vines of this very special place.
Supported by family and friends, we are proud of the progress of the vineyard and the wines we produce. We look forward to sharing the long term journey the potential of these already old vines.
"Stamp the name Vinya Vella on your brain. These wines are wonderful. Buy this 2024 Old Vine release. There’s your review." - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
