Welcome to Vinya Vella
Old vines. Understood.
After working with vineyards globally for over 20 years, I returned to a small site in Vine Vale, one of the rare places where Grenache has endured for over a century.
Vinya Vella is not built around wine, but around old vines, observing and working with them. They are understood, carefully farmed, and preserved. The wines are simply the result of that work.
“Vinya Vella” means old vineyard in Catalan, a reference to time spent living and working with Grenache in Spain, where this path began.
In the Barossa Valley, where my family has roots back to the 1800's, practical experience and doctoral research into vine age now come together in one place.
This is a long-term project, to care for these vines, elevate their produce and to let them speak.
