Welcome to Vinya Vella
Old vines. Understood.
After working with vineyards globally for over 20 years, I returned to a small site in Vine Vale, one of the rare places where own rooted Grenache has endured for over a century.
Vinya Vella is built around special old vines and the rare resource they present as we observe and work with them. These vines are providing lessons, as they are carefully farmed, and preserved. The wines are simply the result of that work.
“Vinya Vella” means old vineyard in Catalan, a reference to time spent living and working with Grenache in Spain, where this path began.
In the Barossa Valley, my family has roots back to the 1800's, this anchors my connection while practical experience and doctoral research into vine age now come together in one place.
This is a long-term project, to care for these vines, elevate their produce and to let them speak through shared experiences.

Being recognised by the wider industry and his peers Dylan now has received two of the highest accolades available in Australian wine for a viticulturist. High praise for dedication and commitment to the craft.
